You have the right to delete your Magink account and associated data. This page explains how to request account deletion and what happens to your information.
1. What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we will remove or anonymize: your account credentials and profile information; your email and associated account data; stories you created; reading history and preferences; avatar and character settings; and other personal data linked to your account. This process is generally completed within 30 days of your request.
2. What May Be Retained
We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate purposes: (a) data necessary for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance; (b) anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you; (c) backups that may contain your data until they are overwritten in the normal course of operations. We do not sell or use retained data for marketing.
3. How to Delete Your Account
Option A: From the Magink App
Open the Magink app → go to Settings or Profile → select Account or Manage Account → choose Delete Account. Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm your request.
Option B: By Email
Send an email to support@maginkapp.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:
- Your registered email address
- A clear statement that you wish to delete your account
- Confirmation that you understand this action is irreversible (for active data)
We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days. You may receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
4. Subscription and Payments
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. If you have an active subscription (e.g., via App Store or Google Play), you must cancel it separately in your device's subscription settings. We will not provide refunds for partial periods after account deletion.
5. Family or Child Accounts
If you manage a family account or child profile, deleting your parent/guardian account may also delete or orphan linked child accounts. Ensure you have exported or saved any content you wish to keep before requesting deletion. For child accounts, parents or guardians must initiate the deletion request.
6. Reactivation
Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Once processed, you cannot recover your account or data. If you wish to use Magink again, you will need to create a new account.
